McGill students host African Business Conference Jan 27th-Jan 28th
Desautels African Business Initiative 2017 McGill University students host African Business Conference, January 27th- January 28th 2017 at Thomson House McGill & EVO – Centre Ville in Montreal.
The growth, potential and complexity of African economies is undeniable. On January 27th and January 28th, 2017 speakers from Angola, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana and beyond will be convening for the Desautels African Business Initiative (DABI) Conference in Montreal. The event will have over 200 attendees and will include panels covering topics such as Entrepreneurship, Education, Finance, Agriculture & Food, Culture and Media.
The event will host distinguished speakers and moderators including Dr. Omar Toulan Professor of Strategy & Millie Monyo, Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed show, An African City. The event also includes a design thinking session aimed at exploring the topic of timing and planning one’s move to the African Continent.
Founded by students in the Faculty of Management at McGill University in the summer of 2014, ‘Desautels African Business Initiative’ aims to bridge the gap of knowledge regarding the economic realities on the ground on the African continent.
“On initiation of our conference, we intended to: A) Inspire our fellow students to become more involved in the rising African economies. B) Enable students to explore opportunities within the African Business. C) Establish meaningful connections with our guest speakers, companies and organizations.
